Eisner's Klezmorim plays traditional klezmer music that really rocks.
Led by Judith Eisner on violin, the band has a big Old World sound of accordion, clarinet, and double bass. Added to this mix is the distinctly Eastern European sound of the Tsimbl, or Cymbolim, a Hungarian hammered dulcimer. Often a Ukrainian / Greek mandolin joins in, and the band creates a wild acoustic experience of an old world wedding.
Judith plays klezmer music with a number of fine musicians in the Minneapolis Area.
Band Members, the Klezmorim, include:
Patrick Harison / Mark Stillman - Accordion
Judith Eisner, Gretta Hunstiger - Violin
Stu Janis / Diane Benjamin - Tsimbl
Matt Miller - Double Bass
Doug Cole - Mandolin
The whole band includes - violin, clarinet, accordion, double bass, mandolin and tsimbl (hammered dulcimer). See their picture below.
There is a klezmer string trio - violin, double bass and tsimbl (hammered dulcimer)
Judith often plays in a duo. She plays fiddle with Stu Janis or Diane Benjamin, both hammered dulcimer / tsimbl players.
Judith also plays accordion and violin with her husband, a mandolin player.
Eisner's Klezmorim plays a fast tune, a freykekhs in C
Judith gave a presentation to the Minneapolis J.C.C. about learning her grandparent's language, yiddish. She played some lovely klezmer music with Stu Janis on tsimbl and Leo Bjorlie playing double bass. Watch the video here.
